Pony Club
Love Ponies? If you love ponies, you'll love the Pony Club. You'll enjoy the friendship, the activities, learning more about ponies, riding and looking after them and most of all having fun!
What do we do at Pony Club? We have:
Rallies - These take place on set days every half term and holidays from 9.00 am - 4.00 pm We have games, quizes, riding, jumping, vaulting, carriage driving, western riding, you can gain your Pony Club achievement badges, have fun and make friends.Summer Camps - These take place throughout July and August. A whole week with your favourite pony! Children join us from all over the country for our Pony Camps. You get a fantastic opportunity to try out loads of equestrian sports, and improve your riding and horsemanship. See our Summer Camps page for more information.
Optional Training sessions - Every Saturday and Sunday you can join in for three hours of riding, stable management and practical horse care. Older, more experienced children who have gained some of their certificates may be invited to stay for the day.
Pony Club Tests - Each member works at their own pace towards the various Pony Club Tests and achievement badges. Tests for each level are held regularly when there are enough members who are at standard. While working towards the D, D+, C and C+ standards, children have the opportunity to gain bronze, silver, gold and platinum certificates in riding and horsemanship as they improve.
What does Pony Club aim to do?
- To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.
- To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship and to instil in members the proper care of their animals.
- To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self discipline
Valley Farm is a registered Pony Club Centre. If you're under 21 and you are not lucky enough to own your own pony, you can become a member. Annual enrolment payable to the Pony Club is £22.00

The Pony Club
The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for all young people interested in ponies and riding. It was founded in England in 1929 and is now represented in 18 countries and has a membership exceeding 105,000. It is the largest association of riders in the world. A majority of the most successful riders in all disciplines of British equestrian competition have been members of The Pony Club. There are almost 40,000 Pony Club Members in Great Britain, belonging to either one of the 357 Branches, or 300 Centres, of which Valley Farm is one.
