Weddings

We have a wide range of horses available for hire for weddings, proposals, proms, anniversary carriage excursions, sikh weddings, pleasure drives and other special occasions. Our horses and carriages are also available for television and film work, so you may have seen them before.

For your special day you will want nothing but the best, and we have a long tradition of providing a high quality service. We pride ourselves on the fact that we have been able to help make peoples days that little bit extra special since 1984.

Our experienced horses are always accompanied by a fully trained groom, to ensure that your day runs smoothly. Our horses are specifically chosen for their suitability and we always have spare trained horses available ensuring that should one be unwell then we are still able to fulfil our commitments.

We have a weight limit of 11 stones for ridden horses.

Side Saddle Wedding Horses

For brides wishing to arrive elegantly on horseback, there is no better way than to ride side saddle.  We have a number of fairy tale type horses experienced in side saddle weddings.

Cowboy/western themed horses

We have several experienced western trained horses in a variety of colours and sizes.  These can be ridden by the groom or bride. The horses come with western saddles, and bridles, and are lead by an experienced groom, wearing western styled attire.

Horse and carriage

If a horse and carriage is what you are looking for we may be able to help you.  We only offer this service locally, as we are not able to transport the carriages other than by driving them with a horse! Unfortunately, we no longer own the landau carriage featured in many of our photographs, but we do have several 2 wheeled vehicles, and a 4 wheeled carriage which is blue. These carriages do not have hoods to protect you from the weather.

Sikh Weddings

Valley Farm have a large white mare, which can be hired for sikh weddings. Our horses have plenty of experience.
The horse comes with red and yellow patterned woollen saddle blanket, and is led by dressed attendants. Families may have their own harness. If so, it may be possible to fit this, when the horse first arrives, and it would be returned immediately afterwards.

Area covered

For a horse and carriage, we are only able to attend local venues/churches within carriage driving distance from Valley Farm. (about 3 miles)

For sikh weddings or side saddle, western etc we are able to travel further as we can transport the horse by horsebox. (up to around 30 miles)

Guarantee of satisfaction

In order to ensure that all the arrangements come together perfectly we visit a few weeks before the wedding to check access to the house/church/reception and to agree upon a suitable route for the horses. We also welcome you to visit our centre should you wish, before booking, to see for yourself the quality of the horses and discuss your requirements. We know you will not be disappointed.

Please contact us for further details, to discuss your individual requirements and to check that your wedding date is available.

  • It's early days at the moment, but have you thought about gifts for your bridesmaids?
You can purchase gift vouchers from us, for your bridesmaids, your parents or anybody else you feel deserves to be treated like the queen. They too can enjoy travelling elegantly in the wedding carriage drawn by beautiful white horses. You could even treat yourselves for your own anniversary.
We also sell gift vouchers for all of the other equestrian lessons we offer. Perhaps they might fancy learning side saddle riding, western riding, trying out circus vaulting or going out for a gentle hack round the countryside.
  • It is worth noting that these activities often prove popular at hen parties as well. See our Corporate Entertainment page for more details.
