Valley Farm Diary - February 2012

Brrrr... Snow, frost and one night got to minus twelve degrees. The water drinkers froze so we all had some extra work...

...carting water to all the animals. Half term was busy as usual with Activity Days , Own A Pony days and Pony Club Rally days. Sophie our Pony Club Co-ordinator arranged a wonderful Rally Day on Road Safety with talks from the Police and East Anglian Air Ambulance. All most informative. At the end of the day the children presented the Air ambulance with a cheque as a sign of their appreciation.

A very low point this month was the day we our darling llama Fudge died. She had been a bit hit and miss since Christmas but the day before she died she seemed much better and had eaten all her supper so it was a bit of a shock for everyone. She will be much missed.

A very high point was receiving the news that we had been successful in a grant application from Sport England for assistance in improving our facilities. The call telling us that we would receive funding of 47,975.00 sent us all into a celebration dance!

Nigel's dog agility competition took place again at the end of the month with a good turnout in spite of the cold weather, and our two darling Labradors have now been with us two years.
