Activity Days

Equestrian Activity Days For Children

(of interest to individuals or school groups or youth groups)

During every half term and school holiday, Monday to Friday, we offer activity days for unaccompanied children aged 6 and upwards.

The days run from 9am to 4pm with drinks and lunch included. Each day covers different topics so you can join us for as many days as you like.

Summer Holiday Activity Days 2017, weekdays from Monday 17th July to Friday 1st September

During school term times we run activity days for school groups of 8 - 32 children.  Please call or email to discuss your schools requirements.

Do you home school or do your children have different holidays from our scheduled activity days? No worries contact us, and we can run an activity day just for you and your friends covering the topics you would like to do. (minimum 6 in a group) If your school has a P.D. Day, make the most of it. Round up some friends and come and enjoy a Pony Day.

If you live too far away for your children to visit daily, it may be possible for the family to stay on site in our holiday lodge, or you could bring your own tent or caravan and stay on our campsite.  We can then look after your children during the day, leaving you free to relax and enjoy your holiday!

At weekends we offer Pony Club, where children can stay for 3 hours in the morning or the afternoon.  All Day Pony Club from 9am to 4pm including lunch is available for older children at weekends.

Gift vouchers can be given as presents for any of the activities we offer at the centre. An activity day makes great birthday or Christmas gift.

We are OFSTED registered so Childcare Vouchers can be used for activity days.

Our activity days are based on the ideals of the Pony Club which are:

-To encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses.

- To give instruction in riding and horsemastership and the proper care of animals

- To promote the highest standards of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self discipline.

Each Activity Day is slightly different, so you can return for years without getting bored.  Many children return for many years. They start with activity days using one of our ponies, and as they gain experience and confidence are able to  loan or buy their own pony.  We are continually adding new activities to ensure there are lots of things to try.  Children are welcome to bring their own ponies, or choose one of ours.  Usually children will end up riding more than one pony during the day, as they will be paired up with ponies which are suitable for the different activities on offer.

Themed Activity days are often organised during half terms, Christmas and Easter breaks.  These focus on a specific topic, such as Vaulting, Show Jumping, One Day Event training, Pony Club badge training or 'Own a Pony Day'.  To find out about the themed days wich are comming up soon see our events page or call the office.
