Work Placements

We welcome students from colleges and universities, for work placements. Valley Farm is an excellent place to learn a wide variety of equestrian skills, as well as gain useful experience of the day to day runnings of a busy equestrian yard with opportunities to practise horse care and management. An opportunity not to be missed. Please send a CV and a letter from your college, including the dates you would like to be placed with us. It is important to give us time to consider your application, as there is often considerable demand. If you are accepted for a work placement with us, it gives you a greater advantage over others applying for a full time job at Valley Farm, should you decide to apply for a post with us when you finish College.

Work Experience

If you have always wanted a career in horses, but are not sure what it would involve, why not consider a work experience placement. We offer a limited number of placements, for school leavers, and those participating in work experience organised by your school. All you will need is a keen interest in horses and horse care, and a desire to want to work in the industry. Any experience of horses is helpful. You will need to send us a CV and a letter from your school with the dates you would like to work to and from, in good time, so we can consider your application and select a suitable date for you to start.

British Horse Society PTT students

Valley Farm is an approved Where to train Centre. This means that if you choose to complete your teaching hours with us, you will only need to teach for 250 hours rather than 350 or 500 if you chose to complete your hours elsewhere. This only applies if you complete all your hours at approved centres. We also welcome freelance instructors who wish to complete their hours.

In either case, it will be necessary to arrange an interview, so we can assess your teaching abilities.

If you are interested in joining the team, here at Valley Farm, please send a CV, at any time to:
